Fraxel Dual Treatment

Acne scars, uneven pigmentation, and fine lines are no match for the Fraxel Dual laser. The device uses 1550nm and 1927nm wavelengths to address many common skin concerns, such as signs of aging. At Laser & Skin Surgery Center of Pennsylvania in the greater Philadelphia area on the Main Line in Devon, Jordan V. Wang, MD, MBE, MBA, and the board-certified dermatologists use the Fraxel® Dual laser to promote healthy, younger-looking skin without injections or surgery.
Our physicians have the skill, training, and expertise to address your aesthetic concerns and help you attain radiant skin with comfortable treatments and as little downtime as possible. During your initial consultation, your dermatologist will evaluate your skin and discuss your aesthetic goals to ensure you achieve your desired results.
How Does the Fraxel Dual Work?
Clinical work carried out by the world-renowned in-house research center at the Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York directly influenced the currently approved treatments of the Fraxel Dual laser. Our board-certified dermatologists have harnessed the knowledge from these studies to safely and effectively treat common skin concerns.
Non-ablative lasers safely create tiny micro-channels in the skin to trigger the body’s own healing response. During this natural process, collagen production and cell turnover increase to tighten the skin and repair damage.
At Laser & Skin Surgery Center of Pennsylvania, the board-certified dermatologists can customize your treatment for your specific needs and goals. They can use the dual lasers separately or combine them for an all-inclusive treatment that addresses multiple concerns at once.
What Can the Fraxel Dual Treat?
With two available wavelengths, the Fraxel Dual can treat a wide range of skin concerns, including:
- Acne scarring
- Actinic cheilitis
- Actinic keratosis
- Age spots and brown spots
- Sun spots
- Aging symptoms
- Birthmarks
- Facial lines and wrinkles
- Pigmentation abnormalities
- Skin texture irregularities
- Melasma
- Stretch marks
- Scarring (surgical scars, acne scars, etc.)
When Will I See Results?
It typically takes about 5-7 days for the skin to heal after a Fraxel Dual treatment, during which time you should notice improvements in your skin. Full results are generally apparent around 1-3 months after treatment.
How Long Is the Recovery Time?
Most patients need a few days of social downtime after treatment, when you will be most red. However, cosmetic make-up can be used to cover this up. You can expect mild swelling, redness, and flaking during this time. After this brief period of downtime, another few days of flaking may continue.
