Crepey Skin
As collagen levels deplete with age, skin can crease, fold, and lose its natural moisture, leading to a crepe-like texture that feels thin and dry.
Wrinkles & Crepey Skin

Tight, clear, buoyant skin is a sign of youth. During your teens and early 20s, the skin borrows much of its elasticity from two essential proteins – collagen and elastin. Around the age of 30, these protein levels begin to deplete. As a result, the skin typically becomes crepey, dry, and loose, leading to a crepe-like appearance.
At Laser & Skin Surgery Center of Pennsylvania in the greater Philadelphia area on the Main Line in Devon, Jordan V. Wang, MD, MBE, MBA, and the board-certified dermatologists offer a number of treatments to boost the appearance of wrinkles and crepey skin, including Botox® Cosmetic, dermal fillers, laser resurfacing, and energy-based device treatments. FAQ
Q: What Ingredients Should Be In My Moisturizer?
A:
The best moisturizer contains a balance of the following ingredients:
Antioxidants: Certain vitamins, such as vitamins C and E, help repair damage at a cellular level.
Beta Hydroxy Acids: The most common type is salicylic acid.
Retinoids: These vitamin A derivatives promote cell turnover to keep your skin soft, smooth, and even. Since retinoid products tend to cause dry skin, our dermatologists typically recommend starting with a pea-sized amount.
Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs): AHAs are similar to retinoids, but they’re typically less drying. Common types include lactic acid, glycolic acid, and hyaluronic acid.
